Iiiiiiiit’s THURSDAY! And you know what that means!! Yes, it means that tomorrow is Friday which inevitably means it’s almost WEEKEND!

But also, more importantly, it’s time for this week’s installment of Splurge vs. Steal!

SPLURGE

Hello, October. Welcome. My name is Mandy. I LOVE YOU.

It’s true. Those of you who know me know this. I’m obsessed with all things Fall… or October... Which means, Oktoberfest is right up there on my top 2 things to do in life. Unfortunately, i missed Fremont’s Oktoberfest this year. And i missed the “real” Oktoberfest in Germany.

You too?? Fear Not! Why not make it to the next-best thing? LEAVENWORTH’S Oktoberfest! It’s happening THIS MONTH!

For three big weekends in October, the kitschy Bavarian town of Leavenworth transforms into one massive celebration – and what are they celebrating? BEER!

Just 2 hours outside of Seattle, Leavenworth is a MUST-SEE town for anyone in the Northwest. Brett and I spent one of our best weekends there last year. It has so much to offer, especially this weekend!

With tons of hotels to choose from, or even camping as an option, the town is your oyster.

Tickets to Oktoberfest are only $10 each, and you can usually find a hotel for around $140/night during this “holiday weekend”… be sure to book lodging in advance, though – the town is PACKED during Oktoberfest and you don’t want to be without a roof over your head.

Make an entire weekend out of it, and hit up some horseback riding (or, sleigh riding during the winter time! so romantic!), go on some amazing hikes, fish the lake, or even enjoy some quiet time with a couple’s massage after a long day of drinking.

Whatever your plans, a weekend in Leavenworth is sure to be a great time!
