Weekend Date Ideas!

If you’re from Seattle, you know how lucky we are to have so many fun events and activities going on during the summer months. The 9 months of gray and dreary weather are soon forgotten once the 85 degrees and blue skies come rolling in.

July through September in Seattle are just priceless... which is why we Seattleites try to cram so much into these three short months.

This weekend is no exception. If you’re looking for something fun to do with your sweetheart, you have a plethora of options to choose from! From enjoying a warm night at Fremont Outdoor Movies to watching pirates take over Alki, there’s something for everyone.

Here is a small sampling of what’s happening this weekend, to hopefully inspire some Date Night creations amongst you readers!

Fremont Outdoor Movies

On random nights throughout the summer (click here for the line-up), Fremont neighborhood plays host to Seattleites craving cult classics watched on a giant screen. Bring some lawn chairs, bring a picnic, bring a bottle of wine, wear a costume (depending on the film, they have 'theme nights!'), and bring your sweetheart! It's a perfectly creative (and cheap!) way to show your hun-bun a good time! ($5 suggested donation)

This Saturday, Fremont Outdoor Movies is showing one of my FAVORITE childhood classics, PeeWee's Big Adventure. (And, if you're anything like me, you'll hide in your blanket when Large Marge tears her face off... that part terrifies me!)

To round out the perfect Date Night, pack a picnic, complete with sandwiches or sushi, cheeses, fruit, and a bottle of vino (don't forget the bottle opener!) and treat your hunny to some good old fashioned movie fun.

I'm so glad you put all this together...it saves me having to plan the weekend on my own!

We have been going to the Fremont Outdoor Movies for years and love it! We might have to try the Viking Days Festival because my boyfriend has a serious thing for Swedish Pancakes! :)
