1) Brett is going to be late at work because it's what accountants term "month end" -- the first Thursday of every month is a big day, where he and his team produce forecasts for the upcoming month, and also finalize reports and execute closing procedures from the previous month. All of what i just said is a complete guess. Brett has told me a million times what "month end" means, but it sort of goes in one ear and out the other... seeing as how THAT side of my brain doesn't function quite as efficiently as THIS one ... so really, what I'm hearing is, 'blah, yada yada yada, WONK, I'll be home late this Thursday, it's month end, WONK, you're heaps hot, yada yada yada ..."
AND...
2) IT'S THE PIONEER SQUARE ART WALK! (for those of you who are also controlled by THIS side of your brain.)
Yes, you heard it right. The Pioneer Square Art Walk! Every First Thursday of the month, a fabulous event takes place in Seattle's historic Pioneer Square neighborhood, from noon to 8PM.
"What happens at this fabulous event?" i hear you ask?
Leading art galleries throughout the neighborhood throw open their doors to introduce their new exhibitions and artists. Some of them even offer fun finger foods or wines for your nibbling enjoyment.
I've never actually been to this event, seeing as how i work way up in in
And, once the galleries close at 8pm, satisfy that other side of the brain by making a pit stop at Elliot Bay Book Company (my FAVORITE Seattle book store!), then head to Marcus' Martini Heaven, a hidden Seattle mecca known for its expertly crafted cocktails, dark corners, and a swanky atmosphere, where you can rehash the night's festivities with your sweetie, and think up some fun activities that don't involve either side of the brain ...
Happy Dating!
