Mistral Kitchen: I don’t even want to talk about this place. So much so, I’m just gunna bullet point the Cons and Pros. I’m starting with cons because I like to finish things positively.
Cons
· Worst service I’ve had in the region (Northern Hemisphere). It took the title proudly held for two years from Monroe KFC.
· Arrogant – When we asked for salt and peper the waiter surprisingly asked “You want salt and pepper?” Yes mate, that’s why we asked. On his return he delivered the goods with a sly “Well now you’re the only table with salt and pepper in here”. Listen here Seattle – unless you’ve got a Michelin star or a food network TV show don’t assume you know how to season to everyone’s taste.
· We thought we were in Barolo
· Our meals were small and guess what… UNDERSEASONED. Maybe because we had their salt. I had the pork chop which was frankly boring. Mandy’s fish was nothing to write home about either.
Pros
· The coffee was fantastic
Cheers, Brett
Note: this is completely my OPINION.
Listen guys, it wasn't all that bad. It's in a prime South Lake Union-meets-Downtown location - and would be a perfect lunch date spot! We have heard some great things about the food... we just feel we didn't quite luck out on our trip in.
There was actually a couple sitting next to us on, what looked to be, a first date. They both looked bored senseless. Now, this is more about their personalities and less about the place, but it helps ease things along when you're cozy (not crammed up next to another table), when the service is so impeccable you want to cheer about it, and the food is amazing you HAVE to share it.
These things - food, ambiance, and service - are paramount to making Date Night a success. There's potential here, but just wasn't our favorite Date Night spot...

Romance: 2 (we were bumped up against tables on both sides. nothing intimate or cozy about it)
Cool Ambiance/Interior: 2 (we seriously thought we were in Barolo... almost identical)
All Around Service: 1 (it took 20 minutes for Mandy to get her beer... with no apologies... what?!)
Cost: $$$ = entrees from $14 - 22
Would we recommend it? No.

My husband and I absolutely LOVE your guys' blog! We just moved to the area from Phoenix, so it has been a great way to try new things around here. Plus, we can't help ourselves but laugh hysterically at your "he said, she said" parts... LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT!
