This week’s Splurge vs. Steal!

splurge_vs_steal_thumb[4]

Happy Thursday dear readers! Have you had a good week? Ours has been busy but fantastic! Brett got dressed up as a redneck and hit up WWE with some pals on Tuesday, while I've been sweating my booty off at my first few times practicing Bikram Yoga.

Yes, it’s been an interesting week to say the least, and we sure are ready for the weekend! What are you up to? What?? You’re staying in town?! PERFECT! There are some great things happening that you should take advantage of!

Welcome to this week’s Splurge vs. Steal!

It’s baaaaaaaack! Seattle's eccentric and kitschy Moisture Festival!

2 I know what you’re thinking… “Moisture Festival? What the HECK does that mean?!”

It’s a festival held here in Seattle that includes a long series of performances in multiple locations across the metro area, starting today, March 11th.

What kind of performances?? Moist ones??

Well, no. Not really. From family-friendly varietè shows to sexy and saucy burlesque shows, there is something here for everyone.

Intrigued?? Me too.

arial According to the Seattle PI last year, “Combining traditional European vaudeville and variety acts such as aerial artists, jugglers, dancers, comedians and can-can girls, the Moisture Festival is a month-long celebration of physical arts taking place at three [five this year] different venues. Most shows are family-friendly, but the festival does have a series of late-night burlesque shows for ages 21 and older.”

Moisture Festival 2007 So head on over to their website and check out the different attractions and venues, schedules, and what people are saying about this fabulous fest!

Tickets range from $10 (comedy/varietè) to $20-something (burlesque/varietè) and can be purchased here. Moisture Festival is on through the 4th of April, so be sure to check it out!

Time to show off your brain skills and impress your sweet with TRIVIA NIGHT!

And who knows, brush up on your random pop culture trivia and you may just end up taking home more than you came with! Fan them on Facebook HERE.

This Week's Date Idea!

I know, i know. We've been terribly bad bloggers as of late. But we have an excuse! Seriously, we've had house guests in town for the whole of August. Now that it's September, we can finally get back to our usual routine. So i PROMISE, this week we will have the most FABULOUS date night to report back to you about.

In the meantime, i give you our Date Night Idea of the Week!

Have any of you noticed that Seattle's pub/bar scene has absolutely embraced the Trivia Night phenomenon? I KNOW! I've noticed too. And i love it!

What could be more fun than getting together with your honey and heading down to your local bar to partake in a fun and rousing (and often uber-competitive) round of random trivia? It's a great way to show off the little bits of worthless knowledge you've picked up over the years. TRUST me, girls think smarts are sexy.

Impress her socks off with the fact that you can name all the band members of RUSH, your knowledge of the underdog victory at the Wales vs Fiji match on September 29th at the 2007 Rugby World Cup, or that Fran Drescher's dog's name is Esther!

What's the best thing about Seattle Trivia Night? IT'S EVERYWHERE!

Seriously. Check out this great website that lists every single Trivia Night in Seattle:

Pub Trivia Night In Seattle

So whether you live in Ballard, Belltown, Bellevue or Bellingham, there's a pub in your neighborhood that participates. And be sure to brush up on your random fun facts, like how the first known contraceptive was crocodile dung, used by Egyptians in 2000 B.C. Now THAT'S what i call sexy!
